Want to update Asus Eee to XP but exe files not recognised?

Posted by admin 26 March, 2010

Want to update my Asus Eee to XP but it sees the files including the .exe files but when I click at them nothing happens. Any idea what i\’m doing wratg?
It is the Eee that has Linux. i\’ve an XP disc that i\’m trying to load using an attached CD Drive
If Linux does not recognise .exe files (must be same in UK which solves why I cannot open them) how do I turn the XP disc into something that LInux will recognise?
When I insert the XP disc it does not autorun I get asked what to open it with. i\’ve changed the setting for the CD drive to be the first thing to get loked at but it just boots into Linux as normal.

I presume that your Eee PC is one that has a Linux operating system. Linux doesn’t recognise [recognize, if you're American] .exe files. That suffix is not native to the platform. Besides which, you need to boot from a CD or USB device for the Windows installation files to ‘kick in’.
