msi laptop doesnt run games smoothly?

i just got call of duty world at war and it seems like it runs the game well like in the intro and menu but when i start gameplay it starts lagging and running slowly i down understand why because my notebook is well above system requirements. my notebook has a 2.0 gh intel dual core processor, 4gb of ram, and a nvidia 8400gm video card.

1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser

3. On the General tab, click “Delete Files” under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the “Delete all offline content” check box , and then click OK.
