Is it possible to put an i7 processor in a dell xps 420 without changing anything or having to get a motherboard to the old ate out, put the new ate in which would be i7 extreme 965

You cannot push in an LGA1366 cpu into a LGA775 socket

other impediments in your mo-board too > bios, vrm etc.
No, it wont fit.
But CRAP those processors are beast!
