so i bought my MSI notebook 2 months ago from newegg.com. It’s an EX620 notebook, 300gb hdd 16in widescreen 4gb ram ati radeon 3470. but starting like 2 weeks ago the fan, or apparently the fan, would start to run SUPER FAST AND LOUD, for no reason, even though the notebook is completely cool, even when it boots up the fan makes this ridiculous noise. sometimes i stop it by tapping the notebook on my desk but sometimes that doesnt work. its really pissing me off and im just about to call newegg and msi customer support but id like your opinions.

its a hardware fault sounds like the fan is faulty – call the support people to get it replaced
Just call customer support. There’s no sense in frustrating yourself trying to figure out a hardware problem like this sounds like when you have a nice warranty and newegg customer service… Typically, MSI is a excellent brand of laptop and I’ve been seriously considering getting one to replace my aging Dell D610 after Windows 7 comes out.
If you are RMAing it and getting an exact replacement, you can image your drive and just write the image to the new computer’s hard drive and you’ll be good to go.
I use Macrium Reflect:
