I am upgrading the OS and have been using the automatic driver finding programs, but they have been unsuccessful in locating the driver for the 4 buttons above the keyboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i can’t use torrent sites. I am deployed overseas, plus mininova doesn’t have any acer drivers anyways.

Hi
Really do not know if this is of any help with you upgrading etc.
I have vista on my Acer as you may or may not be aware Acers keep alot of hidden backups.
But if you have already changed OS then i am not to sure this will work.
On my Vista Acer 5315 i can find all the standard drivers that come come with the computer in order to cover the touch pad , Audio , wireless etc also all the programs/applications that came bundled with computer from new.
The Green launch button and the volume buttons are run by a Launch Manager utility that is part of the Acer empowering technology but not listed as a program in the Acer programs in start menu.
If you have vista hold the windows start menu key then press X to launch windows mobility center.
If you click launch user guide , drivers and utility’s a pop up page will appear after a time and you can select what driver, programs you would like to install.
If the above will no longer work for you .
Use the Acer restore function this will still work as long as your hard drive partition is still in-tack.
It is not only for factory restore and user back up restore but for drivers and applications as well.
Turn computer on .
Hold Alt and repeatedly press F10.
You will need a password to use erecovery if you have never used this program before then you would not been asked to create a password if this is the case the default password is “000000″
( six zeros)
If you have used Acer erecovery before then use the password you were asked to create.
Now select the applications/utility’s a list will appear after a time of components you can reinstall.
PS A lot of upgrades to windows 7 are being done as you will see on questions and answers and a lot of computer manufactures have not /not yet released drivers for the up graded machines.
Good luck.
Those buttons work with Acer “Launch Manager” or “E Manager” program. I have them too but never use them. Anyway, here is the link select your model

and update all your drivers and go to the applications for Launch manager, good luck.
