The appropriate way to do this is to put the CD’s in and reformatt it following the instructiats. However, my Macbook’s screen is broken and I can’t see anything going at, so is there a certain way, certain buttat you can press to reset your Macbook? Thank you.

From experience, I don’t think this is possible.
But its a Macbook.
Take it to your nearest Apple Retail Store. (http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/)

No matter what you’re trying to do…you’re going to need to get your screen fixed sooner or later. May as well take it in now to get fixed, or just get a new computer. Might be less expensive to get a new one.
Try using the Mini-DVI port to use another display. The new display is auto-detect and should work instantly. Im just not sure how things would be during the bootup process, but I guess that’s active during startup like USB.
