how to install external sata hard drive to dell xps laptop?

i got a new external hard drive of sea gate. i thought its jus a normal hard disk with usb port. but there is no such port at dell xps m1330. am afraid i cant use this hard drive. i got a computeri slot with it. but i have no clue wat to do with it.somebody please help me at this.
