how does Fujitsu Lifebook tablet stylus work?

like its not electratic so how does the computer know the difference between it and a finger or something. and how does it know the difference between the earser part and the pen part?

    It’s all electronic but how it works depends on the screen technology used.

    If you’re talking a touchscreen then it is a passive digitizer. An ultra-fine mesh is embedded in the screen. When electrified if produces a weak magnetic field. When the screen is touched the slight deflection of the screen affects the field at that points, and X & y co-ordinates can be determined from that.

    On a Wacom-type electromagnetic “active” digitizer the same electrified micro mash is present and some circuitry in the pen reacts to the magnetic field from up to 1/2 inch away. This again disrupts the magnetic field and is then detected.
