How do you make the Sony Vaio to get full screen?

My screen on the VN-S260 is smushed in and is not full screen. How do I get it to do this? I have already gone through the settings and made the screen resolution and color quality as high as it can go. I tried updating my video driver but that just crashed my laptop.

restore your previous settings by going into settings/system restore and the dates when you think u accidentally smushed it ,restore it there..
