how do i get a driver for the usb controller for my sony vaio notebook?

I lost my device drivers when I upgraded XP Home to XP Pro. My Sony CD did not contain drivers for the USB controller.

try downloading it from the sony website
Go the the Sony website and look in the Support section for Drivers for your particular model.
You go here:
http://esupport.sony.com/perl/select-system.pl?PRODTYPE=24&NAVDISP=pc
(if that link doesn’t work, go to http://esupport.sony.com and click on Computers on the left)
and you detect your system or put in your model number. The drivers are on their site. Once you find them, you download the file, run the file, and it installs the drivers for you. It’s fairly simple once you find what you are looking for and download it.
